Stan a.k.a. "definition" was a rising freestyle MC who  loses it all  because of his meth habit.  He confronts his demons as he preps for an upcoming  competition without the 'fix' that has dominated his life.   Memories of the highs and the rush of music all collide as he struggles to recapture what he once had.
Using spoken word and hip-hop, playwright Michael P. Northey and Green Thumb Theatre offer a dramatic exploration of addiction and drug culture.

Music written by Kyprios & Stylust, hip hop  artists from Vancouver

Feedback and Reviews

I got tickets to this show for my birthday and it has to be one of the most amazing things i've ever seen. I'm 16 and it scared the crap out of me, not to mention it gave me even more respect for hip-hop and plays than I had previously. I really really enjoyed it.

Great foot-tapping and head bobbing throughout the performance. It was very rewarding to view the show with my 16 & 13 year old daughters. Both have seen first hand (my brother) fall to the effects of Meth and were able to relate the destroying impacts of Meth and I know that the performance reinforced what my wife and I tell them and what they have learned. Very worthwhile and EXCELLENT family night out! Thank you.

Brilliant. Using slang and pop culture that is up-to-the-minute relevant got a serious message across, while still creating something that is entertaining. The actor was fantastic, played off the audience well and when it came time to send the message home after the play was done, you could feel his concern and serious nature of the message that he and Green Thumb Theatre are trying to send. We need more stuff like this - stuff that actually grabs kids' attention and gets the message heard. Thank you, Green Thumb!
