Fall 2020 Postponement Announcement

In light of the BC Provincial Government’s announcement on May 6, 2020 stating gatherings of over 50 people will not be allowed for the foreseeable future and with the uncertainty of when BC schools will be re-opening at full capacity, Green Thumb Theatre has made the very difficult but necessary decision to postpone the three productions slated to tour in the fall of 2020, kicking off our 45th season. This includes two brand new productions, Like it or Not by Katey Hoffman (What If), BLINK! by Bronwyn Carradine and returning hit CRANKED by Michael P. Northey, set to tour to Nashville, TN this fall.

This decision was not made lightly, and due care and consideration went into making this decision, as we hold the health and safety of our staff, artists, contractors, schools and students at the forefront of our decision making.

As an organization, we are looking towards the future and finding new ways to connect with our youth audiences and educators in an artistically excellent and meaningful way. Green Thumb Theatre has been at the forefront of the Theatre for Young Audiences sector for more than 40 years and we will continue to provide thought-provoking, profound work at the highest caliber to our audiences in BC and throughout North America.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we started an Artist Relief Fund, offering $100 grocery gift cards to Green Thumb Alumni in need of extra support. To date, we have given away close to $3,000 in grocery gift cards and will keep the fund going for those in need. Please email gm@greenthumb.bc.ca or visit https://bit.ly/2VZDVEG if you would like to access this fund or place a charitable donation.
