As a touring company, Green Thumb Theatre’s work often takes place throughout the traditional homelands of most of the Indigenous Nations and cultures across British Columbia and beyond. Green Thumb's offices are located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam),  Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Green Thumb Theatre is seeking an enthusiastic and results driven Sales & Tour Coordinator to join the Green Thumb team to work alongside the Tour & Education Manager in targeted sales and marketing for our Elementary and Secondary school tours. This is a full time seasonal position (September to December 2021. For the right candidate and pending funding, position may resume in January 2022). Standard office hours: 8:00am-4:00pm. Please note, these hours may vary through the mutual agreement of the Sales & Tour Coordinator and Green Thumb’s General Manager.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Green Thumb has strict protocols in place to protect its employees and community at large. All Green Thumb COVID-19 protocols are reviewed and updated regularly to reflect the current Public Health Orders.

About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager and in conjunction with the Tour & Education Manager, the Sales & Tour Coordinator is responsible for all direct sales of Green Thumb productions, along with marketing strategies, individual school and school district direct sales, national and international sales and venue bookings, as well as offering additional supports to the Tour & Education Manager, as needed. The Sales & Tour Coordinator must be comfortable making sales phone calls to both new and existing school and venue contacts, with a strong focus on building relationships with educators, administrators and venue managers.

Additional duties include creating and maintaining ongoing targeted sales strategies, being an ambassador of Green Thumb Theatre and other administrative duties, as required.

The Sales & Tour Coordinator works collaboratively with other Green Thumb staff members: with the General Manager on sales strategy and tactics, the Tour & Education Manager on sales and other tour-related sales initiatives, and the Development & Outreach Manager on outreach and community engagement initiatives along with other Green Thumb staff on administrative duties, as required.

The Sales & Tour Coordinator provides professional support to the General Manager, Artistic Director and Board of Directors and acts as an advocate of Green Thumb Theatre to arts professionals, various stakeholders and the community at large.

The Sales & Tour Coordinator is a full time (35 hours per week) seasonal position. The contract will be 14 weeks, from September 7 – December 10, 2021. Pending funding, the position may resume in January 2022.

Requirements:

- Post secondary training or equivalent experience with a focus on theatre and/or arts administration and/or relevant professional experience in sales or sales coordination

- Strong communicator, written and orally

- Must be comfortable with sales and calling schools and venues

- Enthusiastic sales person who works well under pressure

- Positive attitude and professional demeanor

- Strong work ethic and passion for live theatre for youth which focuses on social justice

- Advance knowledge of MS office and SUMAC an asset, but not a requirement

Remuneration:

$20.00 - $22.00/hour, to commensurate with experience
