Welcome Bronwyn!

Green Thumb Theatre is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a BC Arts Council Early Career Development Grant to support a season-long internship for Bronwyn Carradine. "I first met Bronwyn when she was stage managing a show I directed at Studio 58," says Green Thumb Artistic Director Patrick McDonald. "It was immediately clear to me that Bronwyn was hardworking, diligent, and smart. As I got to know her I got to witness her broad range of skills and talent, and it was clear to me that she has a bright future in theatre. I'm thrilled that Green Thumb gets to be part of making that future a reality."

Bronwyn Carradine is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist based in Vancouver who directed her first play, TRAIN TRACKS, a show based on 14-year-old Prince Tyre’s death, when she was 17. Since then she has been travelling across the country both in productions and continuing her training. After a summer at the Stratford Festival’s Shakespeare School, she attended Bishop’s University, and later Studio 58 where she was able to continue her passion for acting, as well as writing and directing. Vancouver Assistant Directing credits include: ELBOW ROOM CAFÉ, THE MUSICAL phase 1 & 2 (Zee Zee Theatre), ROMEO & JULIET (The Chop & Studio 58), and DRESSING FOR A WEDDING (Solo Collective). Most recent writing credits include: HONOUR (Zee Zee Theatre), POLISHED (Intrepid Theatre) and NUMBERS (Studio 58). Earlier this year she directed LION IN THE STREETS for Resonance Theatre Collective at Pacific Theatre.

Carradine is thrilled to be joining the team at Green Thumb Theatre this season, and is looking forward to gaining a greater knowledge in all aspects of TYA. Over the past two years, she has often ended up at Green Thumb when she needed inspiration or leadership, and she is grateful to be able to join them full-time for the 2017-18 season.
